Welcome to Cathy (Olmo) Koubek's Page
As an employee of Donor Network West since 2002, I am priviledged and honored to be part of a life-saving mission every day. Prior to working for Donor Network West, I was a 13 year volunteer! Yes, I have both a personal and professional interest in organ donation. My daughter received a liver transplant at the age of 2 in 1989. She recently celebrated 30 years with her transplant and has an active and of course, adorable, 21 month old son--my grandson!
Without the generosity of a donor family who said "yes" to donation, she nor my grandson would not be alive today. But, it also takes an organization like Donor Network West to work tirelessly behind the scenes to connect the donors to the recipients.
My family and I are grateful every day for the donors and their families who help a perfect strangers like my daughter. We are also grateful to the staff at Donor Network West who focus on the mission of the organization by just doing their "jobs" but impact thousands of hopeful and waiting recipients.
I realize I can't pay this precious gift of life back, I can only pay it forward. I'm asking for your support to help raise funds to provide organ donation education through community outreach, research, clinical educational events and annual Donor Family Ceremonys. Each person touched by Donor Network West’s public education campaigns, who then registers as a donor, has the potential of saving lives of perfect strangers too.
It’s easy to make a difference – just click the button to the left to make a donation. Any amount helps the more than 10,000 people waiting for a life-saving transplant in Northern California and Nevada.
I hope you will join me in building a future where all those waiting for a transplant receive their second chance at life.
