Please Support My Run + Walk success by donating to Team Judi: Our Aloha Angel
I did it!
Today, I became a first-time Donor Network West Run + Walk 5K/10K first-time finisher. I walked 6.2 miles today to honor one of the most inspirational Donate Life Ambassadors who I had the pleasure to ever work with: Judi Escalante. I wore Hawaiian leis and bright pink nails to showcase two of Judi's favorite passions: Hawaii and fabulous nails! :).
Judi was a volunteer powerhouse, who welcomed any opportunity to share her testimony as a kidney-pancreas recipent.
Judi had many volunteer superpowers--one of which was engaging with multicultural communities to encourage them to become registered organ and tissue donors. This past July, Judi lost her courageous battle against cancer, but she lives on in all of her Donate Life comrades who continue to tirelessly advocate for more lives saved and healed.
Today, I teamed up with Donor Network West to raise awareness about the need for organ, eye and tissue donation at the 10th annual Donate Life Run/Walk! This event celebrated those touched by donation and honor the donors who have given the gift of life.
Funds raised from today's Run/Walk help provide education on organ, eye, and tissue donation through community outreach, research, clinical events and our annual Donor Family Ceremonies. Each person touched by Donor Network West’s public education campaigns has the potential of saving 8 lives through organ donation and improving another 75 lives through tissue donation.
It’s easy to make a difference – just click the button to the right to make a donation. Any amount helps the more than 11,000 people waiting for a life-saving transplant in Northern California and Northern Nevada.
I hope you will join me in building a future where all those waiting for a transplant receive their second chance at life.
Thank you in advance for your donation!
Hugs and mahalo,
