As you know, our son Matthew passed away in January 2018. We decided to donate his organs to save as many lives as possible. His kidneys and liver were transplanted successfully, with each Bay Area recipient currently doing very well. His lungs were donated for scientific research. Join our team for the 9th annual 5K/10K Donate Life Run/Walk! This event helps to raise awareness about the need for organ, eye and tissue donation, celebrate those touched by donation, and honor the donors who have given the gift of life.
Funds raised from the Run/Walk help provide education on organ, eye, and tissue donation through community outreach, research, clinical events and our annual Donor Family Gatherings. Each person touched by Donor Network West’s public education campaigns, who then registers as a donor, has the potential of saving 8 lives through organ donation and improving another 75 lives through tissue donation.
It’s easy to make a difference – just click the button to the right and join Team Matty. The registration fee is $30 per adult and $15 per child. The event will take place on Saturday, September 7, in San Ramon. Breakfast is included. Each participant will also receive a tee-shirt and medal of completion. If you’re unable to join us, you can still help by making a donation. Any amount helps the over 22,000 people waiting for a life-saving transplant in Northern California and Northern Nevada.
I hope you will join us at the Donate Life Run/Walk and help to build a future where all those waiting for a transplant receive their second chance at life.
